Coahoma ISD dealing with enrollment boom

COAHOMA — It's probably not because of all the recent rain, but Coahoma schools have yielded a bumper crop of elementary students in the last few years.

An increase in enrollment at the elementary prompted trustees with the Coahoma Independent School District to approve the addition of two new teaching positions at their June meeting held Tuesday.

“Our elementary school has grown quite a bit,” said CISD Superintendent Dr. Amy Jacobs. “We had a grade level that we needed to create an addition classroom.”
