College proposes slight increase in tax levy

If Howard College trustees approve the district's proposed tax rate, area property owners will see a slight increase in their tax bills next year.

College President Dr. Cheryl Sparks announced Tuesday that officials will propose a tax rate of 31 cents per $100 valuation, about 1 cent above the effective tax rate, which would raise the same amount of revenue as the previous year.
