Collegians, state insists: get your shots

Immunizations aren’t just for little kids anymore.

Starting in January, most new students at Howard College will be required to be immunized against bacterial meningitis in order to attend classes, officials announced.

The requirement was mandated by the Texas Legislature this year after cases of bacterial meningitis were reported on some college campuses in the state.
