Howard County commissioners named Quail Dobbsâ long-time secretary to replace him as justice of the peace for the Sand Springs-Coahoma area.
Linda Halfmann, who has worked in the Coahoma office of Dobbs â the incumbent JP for Precinct 2, Place 2 â for the past six years, was selected for the position during the commissionersâ regular meeting Tuesday morning.
She will serve the remainder of Dobbsâ term, which runs through Jan. 1, 2015, County Judge Mark Barr said.
âShe has basically been doing the job in (Dobbsâ) absence. Sheâs been a county employee for about 15 years and sheâs very well-acquainted with the work at the Coahoma office,â Barr said. âTo me, she was the logical choice.â
