Cosme A. Ramirez Sr., 74, of Big Spring died Jan. 8, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Deacon Johnny Arguello officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born to Margarita and Pablo Ramirez in Big Spring on Sept. 7, 1939. He married Rosa Parra in June 1959 in Big Spring and was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. He was a self-employed contractor in Howard County. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Rosa Torres of Big Spring; three sons, Cosme P. Ramirez Jr. and wife Julie, Julian P. Ramirez and wife Gloria and John Paul P. Ramirez and wife Ann Marie, all of Big Spring; two daughters, Presilia B. “Prissy” Rodriguez and husband Raymon Sr. and Marisla Flores, also of Big Spring; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cruz R. Miramontes, one sister, Juanita Marquez; one brother, Pable Ramirez Jr.; one grandchild: and two great-grandchildren.
