July 23, 2011

Comanche Trail Golf Course is hosting its City Golf Championship tournament July 30-31. The tournament will be open to any Howard County resident or current annual member of CTGC or Big Spring Country Club. The field will be divided into three divisions: Women’s, Men’s and Men’s Senior (55 or older).
Men must declare themselves eligible for the Championship Flight before play begins. Flights will be determined after Saturday’s (July 30) rounds are completed. Trophies will be awarded to the winners of each flight.
The entry fee for the tournament has been set at $40 per player. The green fees have been waived for the tournament, but golf carts will cost $10 per player.
In August, Big Spring Country Club will be hosting a Guys and Gals Scramble golf tournament. The Aug. 6-7 event will kick off to shotgun starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday, with lunch being served Saturday and appetizers on Sunday. The field will be flighted by first round scores, with the number of flights being determined by the number of entries.
The cost of the tournament will be $150 per team, plus golf cart. Private carts are welcome. For more information, call the pro shop at call 432-267-5354.
