Crimson Soul back for reunion concert

February 22, 2013

Four years after going their separate ways, the Big Spring based musical group Crimson Soul will reunite for a final performance.
Featuring solo performances by Brandon Ray, Cody Carnes and the Adrian Calvio band, the group will be in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, in the Big Spring Municipal Auditorium.
Tickets are $10 each and available at the Big Spring Convention and Visitors Bureau, KBYG, KBST, Adrian Calvio State Farm Insurance and Big Spring City Hall. If available, tickets will also be sold at the door on the night of the concert.
“The Big Spring Convention & Visitors Bureau is very excited to be bringing former local band Crimson Soul to Big Spring for a final reunion concert,” said Debbie Wegman, Big Spring CVB executive director.
Crimson Soul was formed early in 2001 in Big Spring and continued until 2009. Along the way, the group recorded four albums, went on three national tours and performed with bands such as Switchfoot and Anderlin.
Each individual member is achieving success on their own right now. Ray, the lead singer, is living in Nashville, Tenn., and breaking ground on his solo country music career and is also a professional songwriter for one of the top publishing agencies in the country. Carnes, the bass player, is working as worship pastor for Gateway Church in Scottsdale, Ariz., and has written songs that are being played at churches and venues all over the world.
Lead guitarist Jonas Palomino is living in Dallas, Texas, and although still has his hand in various musical projects in the area, he is one of the top air traffic controllers for Love Field. Ryan Tant, the drummer, is also living in Nashville. He is currently on tour with national recording artists Trailer Choir, as drummer and tour manager. Ryan is also working with his brother, Brandon Ray, playing drums for his band.
“Crimson Soul is extremely excited about returning to Big Spring for one last performance,” added Wegman.
