Cutting up! Woodcarvers show begins Monday

October 26, 2013

HERALD photo/Steve Reagan Mustang Draw Woodcarvers Club member James Fryar is shown with some of his creations. The club will host its annual Show and Sale Monday through Saturday at the Dora Roberts Community Center.

It's amazing what you can create with nothing more than a knife, a piece of a wood and the right attitude.
That's the message the Mustang Draw Woodcarvers Club will be spreading when they host their annual Show and Sale starting Monday at the Dora Roberts Community Center.
The annual event serves as both a showcase of club members' talents and a teaching experience. On one hand, the public will get a chance to view some of the finest wood carvings to be found in this area. On the other, they can try their hand at the craft themselves.
The event is usually a big draw, although there was a downturn in attendance last year, club member James Fryar said.
