Danny Smith, Sr., 66, of Vincent, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Vincent Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter McCall officiating. He will be buried in Vincent Cemetery with Military Honors.

He was born Aug. 29, 1947, in Alexandria, La., to Irma Lee (Jenkins) Smith and Clyde David Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He received two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts and a Combat Infantry Badge. He retired as an automobile sales manager. He had been a resident of Vincent for the past seven years coming from Kermit. He was a Baptist and a disabled veteran.

He is survived by his wife Vickie Lynn Smith of Vincent; three sons, Matt Smith of Odessa, Daniel Smith Jr. and David Smith, both of Texas; one daughter, Coby Ann Smith of Texas; one brother, J.C. Smith of Texas; two sisters, Betty Lou Fussell and Irene Rasberry, both of Louisiana; and 5 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Allen Smith and four brothers, Clyde Smith Jr., Ray Smith, Allen Smith and Alvin Hudnall.
