Daryle Ed Coates, 60, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in a Stanton hospital. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born September 20, 1953 in Big Spring, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and Howard County and graduated from Coahoma High School in 1972. His passion was cooking and serving the Wounded Warriors.

He is survived by one son, Blake Coates and wife, Julie of Moore, S.C,; one daughter, Cheryl Peckham and husband, Ryan of Midland; three grandchildren, Hannah Peckham, Lucy Coates and Zoe Peckham; two brothers, Roger Coates and wife, Darlene of Seadrift and Jim Bob Coates of San Antonio; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, James Edward and Roselle Coates.

The family suggests memorials to Combat Marine Outdoors, c/o American State Bank, Waco, Texas 76702 or to a favorite charity.
