David Sidney Johnson

David Sidney Johnson, 76, of Midland died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Resthaven Memorial Park.

He was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Hays County, Texas, moving to Martin County in 1943. He graduated from Stanton High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Navy. David worked for Texas Electric Company for 33 years, retiring in 1994. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his friend and companion, Theresa Winn of Midland; one son, Brian Johnson of Midland; one brother, Albert Johnson and wife Dutchie of Stanton; two sisters, Mary Belle Keaton and Nancy Swink and husband Bill, all of Stanton; a granddaughter; and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Webster and Virgie Schuelke Johnson.

The family suggests memorials be made to American Diabetes Association, 10 Desta Dr. Suite 270E, Midland, Texas 79701; or the Martin County Senior Center, P.O. Box 1233, Stanton, Texas 79782.
