Don D. Roman

Don D. Roman, 75, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Revs. Walter McCall and Joey Bacon officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 22, 1937, in Tahoka, Texas. Don married Beth Kuykendall Nov.19, 1988, in Big Spring, Texas.

Don was raised in Knott. He served in the U.S. Army and upon returning to Big Spring, worked for Big Spring Hardware and then began working at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was later transferred to Washington, DC. Don later moved to Austin, Texas, where worked for the state of Texas and then the city of Austin. He moved back to Big Spring in 1985 when he went to work for E.D.S., overseeing the installation of the computer system at the VA Hospital.

He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Beth Roman of Big Spring; two daughters, Kellie Myers-Geneseo and husband Jim of Crowley and Donnan Gae Roman-Emerson of Hayesville, Kan.; one son, Britt Roman and wife Twila of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Maxie Roman of Denton; and one sister, Judith Ann Roman of Bryan.
