Donna Sue Franklin, 59, of Big Spring died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at College Baptist Church. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born June 9, 1953 in Coleman, Texas to Willie Mae and Elmer Carter. She married Kenneth Franklin on December 27, 1977 in Big Spring, Texas. She worked for Trio Fuels for almost 20 years. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and dedicating her time to helping people through her faith. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Franklin of Big Spring; two daughters, Misty Matthies and husband Jimmy and Brenda Franklin, all of Big Spring; her stepson, Ken Franklin of Hurst; five grandchildren, Bree Franklin, Ely Matthies, Krislynn Matthies and Emma Matthies, all of Big Spring and Kenny Franklin of Frazee, Minn.; her mother, Willie Mae Hart of Haskell; one brother, Jim Bob Carter and wife Edna of Rochester; two sisters, Carla Hughes and husband Scott of Big Spring and Debbie Gressett and husband Wayne of Haskell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer “Don” Carter; and a brother, Terry “Fuzzy” Carter.

Pallbearers will be Ray McKinnon, Chad Tidwell, David Denton, Johnny Franklin, Douglas Franklin and Jerome Phifer.
