Donnie Wayne Hale

Donnie Wayne Hale, 64, of Westbrook, Texas, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, 2014.

He is the son of the late Floyd and LaVada Hale. On Dec. 22, 1972, he married Judy Chambers at the Westbrook Methodist Church. He was a 1970 graduate of Hobbs High School in Hobbs, Texas. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1970-1975 and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. In 1976, he began his career in the oilfield working for Mabee Petroleum. In 2004, he retired from Anadarko Petroleum Corp, began his own oil company, in addition to going to work full-time with his two sons. Donnie was a strong supporter of Westbrook ISD and was currently serving as president of the WISD Board of Trustees.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Chambers Hale of Westbrook; one daughter, Sheila Holt and her husband Jay of Coahoma; two sons, Brad Hale and wife Diedra of Westbrook and Jim Bob Hale and wife Mandie of Westbrook; six grandchildren, Jayden Holt, Reagan Hale, Conner Holt, Sadie Hale, Cooper Hale and Donnie Creed Hale. He is also survived by three sisters, Donna Ginkinger of Westbrook, Diane Petty and husband David of Westbrook, Pansy Fernandez and husband Paul of Westbrook; and two brothers, Eddie Hale and Ray Hale and his wife, Cindy, all of Westbrook; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and LaVada Hale; and his brother, Wendell Hale.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan, 31, 2014, at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at 22nd and Austin Church of Christ in Colorado City, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 2 p.m. Burial is to follow in the Westbrook Cemetery.

Services are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
