OLNEY — Doris Junek, age 82, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Kell West Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, in the chapel of Myers & Smith Funeral Home in Big Spring, Texas, with Scotte Clark of Olney officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Doris was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Cameron, Texas, to the late Walter and Clara (Fussel) Stork. She married F. C. Leroy Junek on May 6, 1950, in San Angelo, Texas. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1993. She moved to Jean, Texas, in 1995 from Big Spring, Texas, and was a member of the Jean United Methodist Church. She helped make the stained glass windows for the church, and they were featured on the Texas Country Reporter. She was a homemaker and was a crack shot with a .22 rifle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her twin sister Dorothy Eckert, her sister Leola Sladek, and an infant son, Charles Ray Junek.
Doris is survived by one son, Calvin Junek and wife Susan of Jean, Texas; three daughters: Dolores Osborn and husband Eugene of Graham, Texas, Lola May Kloss and husband Mike of Dale, Texas, Ruby Hambrick and husband Pecos of Wichita Falls, Texas; one brother, Mondrow Stork and wife Evelyn of Rockdale, Texas; two sisters, Onafay Skrahak of Bastrop, Texas, and Florence Williams and husband Bob of Big Spring, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Family visitation will be on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
