Douglas Mack Green, Ph.D., 71, of Redmond, Wash., formerly of Big Spring, Texas died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at Baylor McKinney Hospital. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born May 2, 1942 in Big Spring to LaVerne (Lindsey) and Johnnie A. Green. He grew up in Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School. He graduated from Howard County Junior College, Texas Tech University with his bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering and received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in bio-medical engineering. He was a teacher and/or administrator at the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M at College Station, State University of New York at Binghamton, New York, Marquette University and Texas A&M University at Texarkana.

He is survived by one son: Dustin Green of Redmond, Wash. and one daughter: Alex Green of McKinney; two sisters: Bobbie Thomas and Evelyn Anderson both of Big Spring and longtime friend Jan Green and two grandchildren.
