Dozens indicted by grand jury

A Howard County grand jury handed down more than two dozen indictments last week, including numerous true-bills for possession of a controlled substance.

The grand jury met Thursday but because of the Easter holidays, results were not released until Monday afternoon.

Among those indicted were:
• Jesus Castaneda Bustamante, 69, of 605 S. Nolan, possession of a controlled substance (state jail felony).
• Jimmy Escovedo Rodriquez, 53, currently being held at the county jail, possession of a controlled substance (third-degree felony, enhanced).
• Devon Lee Butler, 25, of 1415 Sycamore, burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony (first-degree felony) and driving while intoxicated (third-degree felony).
• Christina Jean Diaz, 28, of 1002 N. Main St., possession of a controlled substance (second-degree felony).
• Kaydra Nicole Franco, 21, of 503 N. Goliad, possession of a controlled substance (second-degree felony).
• Abel Yharte Gomez, 26, of 1306 Johnson, possession of a controlled substance (second-degree felony).
• Robert Ramirez Gonzales, 45, of 805 E. 18th St., possession of a controlled substance (first-degree felony, enhanced).
• Rodolfo Gonzales Jr., 49, of 1601 S. Johnson, driving while intoxicated (third-degree felony).
• Roy Hulin Jr., 50, currently being held at the county jail, possession of a controlled substance (state jail felony).
• David L. Humphrey III, 46, of 1317 Mulberry, driving while intoxicated (third-degree felony).
• Virgil David James, 53, of 3810 Rice, driving while intoxicated (third-degree felony).
• Abel Martinez, 36, of 1312 E. Sixth St., evading arrest (state jail felony).
• Phillip Mendoza, 59, of of 108 N.W. Eighth St., possession of a controlled substance (third-degree felony).
• Danibelle Miller-Olivarez, 32, of 538 Westover Rd. (apartment number not provided), debit card abuse (state jail felony).
• Richard Norman Ramirez, 45, of 611 N. San Antonio, driving while intoxicated (second-degree felony, enhanced).
• David Rodriguez, 44, of 301 S. Furrh in Coahoma, driving while intoxicated (third-degree felony).
• Michelle Zundalane Rodriguez, 36, of 701 N. Tubb Rd., debit card abuse (state jail felony).
• Charlie Jake Turner, 31, currently being held at the county jail, robbery (first-degree felony, enhanced).
• Phillip Rene Alcantar, 22, of 500 N. Runnels, possession of a controlled substance (state jail felony).
• Steven Merl Corson, 53, of Midland, theft – more than $1,500 and less than $20,000 (state jail felony).
• Hector DeLaRosa, 57, of Dover, Fla., unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (state jail felony).
• Gaye Preston Johnson, 43, of 1017 Private Road 3872, fraudulent possession of a controlled substance prescription Schedule I/II (two counts, both third-degree felonies, enhanced).
• Edwin Lee Matthews, 48, of 1311 W. Second St., possession of a controlled substance (state jail felony).
• Mary Guthrie Nelson, 49, of 800 Edwards Blvd., forgery (two counts, both third-degree felonies, enhanced).
• Eufemio Ortiz Jr., 19, of 1403 S. Aylesford, burglary of a building (state jail felony) and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (two counts, both state jail felonies).
• Priscilla Perez, 22, of 1900 Martin Luther King Blvd. Apt. 502, forgery (third-degree felony).
• Jeremy Don Rainey, 22, currently being held at the county jail, theft-grave (state jail felony).
