Early voting turnout light for Tuesday election

November 2, 2013

With less than 3 percent of registered Howard Countians casting a ballot during early voting, it's probably not out of line to say interest in Tuesday's constitutional amendments election is just about nil.
According to the county elections office, only 413 people cast a ballot during the early voting period, which ended Friday. Similar low-vote totals were coming in from across the state — typical for a constitutional amendments election.
However, one glimer of interest — 109 of those 413 ballots cast were on the final day. In all, 2.51 percent of the registered voters in Howard County made their way to the early voting polls.
On election day, Tuesday, Howard County voters will cast their ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in one of six locations.
