Eddie C. De Leon Sr., 80, of Big Spring, died Friday, May 11, 2012, in a San Angelo hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
A prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2012, in the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.
Eddie was born April 23, 1932, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Concepcion "Concha" Subia on July 21, 1956, in Big Spring. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired after 32 years from the VA hospital as a pulmonary lab technician.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
Survivors include his wife, Concha De Leon of Big Spring; one daughter, Lupe Ochoa and husband Luis of Big Spring; two sons, Eddie De Leon Jr. of Big Spring, and John De Leon and wife Kim of Gilbert, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six brothers, Rudolfo De Leon Jr. and wife Josie, Jimmy De Leon Sr. and wife Chakie, Dickey De Leon Sr., Johnny De Leon and wife Annette, Ben De Leon and Mario De Leon, all of Big Spring; five sisters, Amparo Franco and Yolanda Mendoza and husband Phillip Sr., all of Big Spring, Carmen Banuelos and husband Fernando, Mary Ann Faulkner and husband Tom, and Liz Rosen and husband Ross, all of California; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolfo and Guadalupe (Castruita) De Leon; one daughter, Lori De Leon; one infant brother, Jimmy De Leon; and one infant sister, Mary Ann De Leon.
