Eduarda Evelyn Flores

Eduarda “Evelyn” Flores, 79, of Big Spring entered into eternal peace Sept. 14, 2012. Visitation and Rosary will be held at Myers & Smith Chapel at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012. A celebration of her life will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Evelyn was born in Big Spring, Texas on Oct. 13, 1932, a daughter of the late Pete and Nettie Diaz. She married the late Moses Flores Sr., Aug. 27, 1952, in Georgetown, Texas. She was a dedicated, well loved and successful X-Ray Technician at Hall Bennett Hospital for 39 years and inspired others to pursue the profession. Following retirement, Evelyn remained employed by Dr. Bruce Cox up until her illness in 2011.
Evelyn was very dedicated to her Catholic faith, and devout to the Holy Rosary.
She is survived by: her son Richard Flores and his wife Mary of Big Spring; three daughters: MaryAnn Leal and her husband Gilbert of Big Spring, Terry Martinez and her husband Freddy of Fort Worth, Martha E. Flores and her partner Kate Roberts of Los Angeles; brother: Enez Diaz of San Antonio; sisters: Petra Rios-Rios of Big Spring, Elvira Marin of Big Spring, Natalia DeLaGarza of Weatherford, Mary Arispe of Big Spring, Virginia Diaz of Abilene, and Margie Smith of Jourdanton. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Josh Flores, Natalie Alba, Samantha Flores, Michael Leal, Elena Flores, Gabriel Leal, and Eli Flores; five great grandchildren: Alehandro Huerta, Sipriana Alba, Chloeigh Moore, Marisela Alba and Jonah Moore, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Josh Flores, Michael Leal, Gabriel Leal, Eli Flores, Alehandro Huerta and Sam Harris. Honorary pallbearer will be Jonah Moore.
The family would like to thank Compass Hospice for their compassionate love and care. A special thanks to her nurses Danielle, Lark, Natalie, nurse’s aide Maria, and Chaplain Walter McCall; also family nurses Vera Marin and Mary Flores. Also included in thanks are all Evelyn’s sisters, family, and friends that provided the love and care required.
