Edward 'Big Ed' Rangel

Edward “Big Ed” Rangel, 52, of Big Spring, died Wednesday March 12, 2014, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial following at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born in Midland, Texas, Sept. 25, 1961, to Betty and Vicente Rangel. He married Ida Robledo in 1979. He was a welder and a Catholic. He had been a resident of Big Spring for 19 years.

He is survived by his wife Ida Rangel of Big Spring; three sons, Miguel Martinez and wife DeAnn, of Big Spring, Edward Rangel Jr. and wife Angelique of Lubbock; Ruben Rangel and wife Maggie of Big Spring; one daughter, Jennifer De Los Santos and husband Jaime of Big Spring; his parents Betty and Vicente Rangel of Midland; two brothers; seven sisters; 23 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
