Edward Reeves Moren, 85, of Big Spring died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Ivins officiating.
Reeves was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Breckenridge, Texas, and married Elizabeth Smith on Sept. 19, 1954, in Texarkana, Ark.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Epworth Sunday School Class. He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, graduating with a Chemical Engineering degree. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, he returned to Big Spring to help his father with his Western Auto Store. He spent the next 40 years working and owning that store. Reeves was a member of the Gideons International Big Spring Camp, and volunteered for the VA Hospital and most recently the Isaiah 58 Food Bank.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Moren of Big Spring; two sons, William E. Moren and Richard Reeves Moren and wife Susan, all of Big Spring; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Moren and wife Mary of Andrews; and one sister, Anna V. Hart and husband Ira Joe of Lakeside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Eula Kate (Norton) Moren.
