Edwin Maurice Wright, 88, of Snyder, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder after a lengthy illness.

Services for Mr. Wright will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Brian Adams and Ben Reed officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Wright was born Nov. 14, 1925 in Carlton, Texas to Henry Lee and Naomi (Bingham) Wright. He married Nellie Mullins Dec. 21, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas. She preceded him in death June 12, 2007.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 on the USS West Virginia. He was a foreman for the Colorado River Municipal Water District, retiring in 1990 after 32 years of service. He was also a former member of the Sand Springs Lions Club and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Snyder.

He is survived by a daughter, Janelle Rich and husband, Steve, of Snyder; two sons, Charles Gray of Big Spring, Texas and Ray Lynn Wright and wife, Norma, of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Letha Wayland, Big Spring, Texas and Billie Beard of Morrison, Okla.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Wright; and a sister, Betty Carter.

No visitation is planned.
