Elgen Suazo

Elgen Suazo, 20, of Forsan, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvary Callender officiating.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.

He was born Oct. 10, 1992, in Malaybalay City, the Philippines. Elgen moved with his family to Forsan, Texas in 2002.

He was a proud graduate of Forsan High School in 2012. He excelled in varied sports and was a state qualifier in both track and cross-country his junior and senior years, earning numerous medals and ribbons during competition.

His love of running fostered his desire to eventually become a track coach. Elgen also loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. When not engaged in those activities, he loved being around his friends and family, most notably, special to him his relationship with Cassie Boehringer.

He worked for Hibbett Sports in Big Spring, Big Spring State Hospital for a short time, and was attending Howard College. His electric and contagious smile radiated from his caring spirit and was evident in the joy others felt when with him.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Adrienne Bides of Forsan, Texas; father, Bernie Suazo of New York, N.Y.; brother, Franklin John Suazo of Forsan; two sisters, Rowena Anne Suazo of Forsan and Paz Christe Ramos of New York, N.Y.; grandparents, Rogelio and Paz Bides of New York, N.Y.; his aunts and uncles, Bronwin and Brian O'Connor of Demarest, N.J., Robert and Sol Bides of Malabalay City, the Philippines, Shirlene and Ronel Sulatan of Big Spring, Texas, Rellene White of New York, N.Y. and John and Ann Bides of New York, N.Y.; countless cousins, great aunts and uncles in the Philippines; and a wide circle of friends.
