Elida 'Lillie' Granado

TULIA — Elida “Lillie” Granado, 76, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, in Amarillo. A funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with the Rev. Marcos Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at the funeral home.

Lillie was born Sept. 28, 1935, in Martindale, Texas, where she grew up. She married Ladislao “Lee” Granado on Oct. 2, 1954, in Nazareth. They moved to Hereford in 1980 and she worked for the laundry there until they moved to Big Spring in 1983, when she began to work for the State Hospital there. She retired in 1993 and moved back to Tulia.
She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit and the Guadalupanas.

Survivors include one daughter, Paula Perea of Amarillo; one son, Jimmy Granado of Tulia; four brothers, Andres Zuniga of Austin, Bert Zuniga and Henry Zuniga of Amarillo and David Zuniga of Fort Worth; three sisters, Consuelo Cortez and Susie Neito of Seguin and Mary Jane Esparza of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Granado; one daughter, Teresa Moreno; one son, Rudy Granado; and one brother, George Suniga Jr.
