Eliseo M. Gamboa

Eliseo M. Gamboa, 82, of Big Spring died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, in Big Spring. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Brother Gabriel Garza officiating. Mr. Gamboa was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 71 years.

Mr. Gamboa was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Eskota, Texas. He came to Big Spring in the early '40s with his father Jose Gamboa and his mother Maria Gamboa. In 1951, he met and married Rosa Badillo.

Mr. Gamboa grew up and attended school in Big Spring. He worked for Seven Up Bottling Company for 21 years. In 1957, Mr. Gamboa became a Duly Ordained Minister of the Gospel and served the East Spanish Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Big Spring for the rest of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosa Gamboa; one daughter, Mary Perez and husband Roy; three sons, Samuel and his wife Nancy, Noe Santiago and Eliseo Jr. and his wife Mary; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his father,m Jose Gamboa, and his mother, Maria Gamboa; and a sister, Selia Jackson.

The family suggests memorials be made to East Spanish Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses,1411 S. Scurry St., Big Spring, Texas 79720.
