Eloisa Arriola, 85, of Big Spring, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug.29, 2013. Prayer service will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Joe Torres officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
She was born Dec, 1, 1927, to Teresa and Margarito Carrasco in Shafter, Texas. She married Meliton Arriola Sr. Jan. 15, 1947. She was a homemaker and mother. She loved to cook for her family and was famous for her tacos. She was a longtime resident of the community and was a member of Iglesia Bautista Central.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Arriola of Big Spring, Noemi Prieto and husband Joseph Apolinar; two sons, Meliton Arriola Jr. and wife Iris of Harrisburg, Pa., and Albert Arriola and wife Lazara of The Colony, Texas; one daughter in law, Yolanda Arriola of Wylie, Texas; nine grandchildren, Joshua Arriola, Jose Arriola, Jr.,Daniel Arriola, Mariel Porter, Monica Dumitrescu, Matthew Arriola, Natalie Arriola, Lauren Arriola and Marc Prieto; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Meliton Arriola Sr. on Nov. 22, 2005 and son Joe Arriola in 2008.
Pallbearers will be Joe Arriola Jr., Daniel Arriola, Joshua Arriola, Marc Prieto, Joseph Apolinar Prieto and Luis Viera.
