Emma 'Jean' Walke

Emma “Jean” Walke, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, Texas with Pastor Jannie Linney officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, Texas.

She was born June 27, 1930, in Red River County, Texas and married James Weldon Doyle in 1946 in Clarksville, Texas. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1987 in Stanton, Texas. She married Robert Walke Nov. 16, 1995, in Stanton, Texas. He preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2012 in Levelland, Texas.

Jean was a homemaker who lived in Stanton, Texas for many years, raising her family there. After the death of her husband James, she continued to live in Stanton until her marriage to Robert. They made their home in Levelland until his death. She then moved to Bulverde, Texas to live with her grandson, James Richard Foresyth and his family.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis Weldon Doyle of Coppell and Eddie Carl Doyle of Fannet; two daughters, Evelyn Nan Reynolds of Lubbock and Deborah Gay Veitch of Nederland; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Barnes Pryor and Eula Mae Venus Pryor; and a son, James Barry Doyle in 1975; and daughter Linda Ann Alldredge in 1991.
