Epifanio Y. Hernandez, 70, of Big Spring died Friday, October 21, 2011, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Primera Iglesia Bautista.
He was born April 7, 1941, in Ballinger, Texas to Aurora and Richard Hernandez. He married Celia Mejia on July 16, 1986, in Crowell, Texas. They moved to Big Spring in 1993 from Coleman. He was a retired T. V. repairman and a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista.
He is survived by his wife: Celia Hernandez of Big Spring; four sons: Joe Hernandez of Anson, Ricky Hernandez and Johnny Hernandez, both of Jacksboro, and Ray Hernandez of Amarillo; two daughters: Rachel Hernandez and M'air Hernandez, both of Amarillo; two step-sons: Rene Mejia of Big Spring and Lee Mejia of San Antonio; three brothers: Richard Hernandez of Crowell, Paul Hernandez of Wichita Falls, and Lupe Hernandez of Quanah; one sister: Natalie Chavolla of Crowell; twenty grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Jesse Hernandez; one sister: Frances Favela; and one brother: Johnny Hernandez.
