Eunice Fay Durkee

Eunice Fay Durkee passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at her home in New Boston, Texas. She was 68.

Eunice was born Sept. 10, 1943, in Big Spring, Texas, to Floyd and May Jones. She graduated high school in Ackerly, Texas, and attended college in New York state. She worked in the Howard County Courthouse as a stenographer for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and May Jones; a sister, Wanda Minex; and two brothers, Jimmy Jones and Gene Jones.

She is survived by two sisters, Jeannie Wise of Malta, Texas, and Lilly Teel of Hobbs, N.M.; two brothers, Vernon Jones of Jasper, Ga., and Steve Jones of Dodd City, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.
