Spoiling the child is OK sometimes, and what better way to do that than treating them to an event fit for the entire family — the Harlem Ambassadors basketball game.
Staying off drugs, getting up and being athletic is what it's all about. The Ambassadors are comprised of young men and women proving the point that women as well as men, can do anything that they set their minds to. All of the players have attended college, played college basketball and are living a drug-free life. The areas of study are extensive when it comes to the degrees that they hold: exercise science, elementary education and criminal justice are only a few of the degrees represented on this team.
Each of the players have made the choice to lead not only active lives, but have healthy lifestyles and serve as good role models for the youth of today.
The Ambassadors will take on the “Screamin Sloppy Joes,” made up of area notables. The two teams will be facing off at 7 p.m. tonight in the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum. Once the game kicks off those attending can expect to see lots of high-flying, entertaining fun.
The game won't so much be for deciding a winner, as it will be to provide a good night of family fun and spreading an educational message.
Tickets are available at the door for $4 for seniors, $5 for students, $6 for adults and children under 4 get in free. Proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club.
If you are looking for something to do with the whole family that's not too expensive, take in the game.View more articles in:
