Famiy, friends wait for answers as probe continues

COLORADO CITY — Frustration continues to mount among friends and family still hoping for the safe return of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn, who went missing from her home here Dec. 27.

Dunn has been the focus of a region-wide search since her mother, Billie Dunn, reported her missing to the Colorado City Police Department Dec. 28. Searches of fields and abandoned structures have been conducted in Colorado City, as well as numerous nearby communities, including Dunn, Abilene, Odessa and Big Spring.

The lone suspect in the case, 25-year-old Shawn Adkins, was named a “person of interest” by law enforcement officials several weeks ago. However, according to Colorado City city manager Pete Kampfer, there hasn't been any new information to release to the family or press in the case.
