Felipe Lerma Villa

Felipe Lerma Villa, 69, of Big Spring, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at his daughter's residence. Vigil services will be 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

He was born March 12, 1942, in Big Spring, Texas, and worked for Dr. Pepper Bottling Company for 38 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the civil rights group "The Brown Berets" and coached baseball for much of his family. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

Survivors include four daughters, Viola Villareal and husband Manuel Perez of Big Spring, Carmen Estrada and husband Carlos and Nancy Villa, all of Stanton and Veronica Perez and husband Carlos of Big Spring; three sons, Henry Villa of Midland, Luis Villa of Stanton and Richard Villa and wife Viola of Big Spring; one brother, Domingo Villa of Midland; one sister, Rosa Bustamante of Big Spring; 16 grandchildren, Eric Agurrie, Christopher Villa, Adam Villa, Jacob Villa, Michelle Villa, Leonardo Enrique Arras, Monica Estrada, Jonathan Estrada, Kathryn Estrada, Manuel Hernandez, Roxie Sykes, Julia Villa, Rico Villa, Brandi Villa, Eryn Villa and Isaac Perez; 14 great-grandchildren, Felisha Agurrie, Eric Agurrie Jr., Carisma Agurrie, Adam Agurrie, Isaac Agurrie, Isaiah Hinojosa, Aubrey Villa, Ava Villa, Keyden Villa, Mikaela Vasquez, Arianna Vasquez, Marissa Vasquez, Mackenzie Estrada and Bella Sykes; and one great-great-grandson, Nathaniel Contreras.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Blasa Lerma Villa; a daughter, Cruz Villa; a grandson, Henry Villa Jr.; a sister, Filomena Hernandez; and a brother, Ramon Villa.
