Film society looking for 'Ghostbuster' volunteers

July 8, 2011

Who ya' gonna call?

If you happen to be in the downtown area July 15 it will most likely be the Ghostbusters, as the Big Spring Film Society gets ready to screen the 1984 classic featuring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. The second flick in the film society's summer screening program, “Ghostbusters” — written by Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Rick Moranis and directed by Ivan Reitman — marks an important milestone for both the local film society and its chairman.

“From the time we first started thinking about doing these screenings, we always knew at some point we would screen 'Ghostbusters,'” said Brandon Johnson, chairman of the local group.

“This movie was as much a part of our childhood as Saturday morning cartoons, and just the thought of seeing it screened with downtown Big Spring as the backdrop makes me smile.”

For more information on volunteering during the screening, visit www.bigspringfilm.org, friend the film society on Facebook or contact Johnson at 432-213-0759 or cruiser1977@gmail.com
