Big Spring and Howard County firefighters struggled against a huge wildfire that threatened homes and property ranging from Kentwood to the Driver Road area Monday.

No injuries were reported as of 8 p.m., but several structures were damaged and at least one was destroyed by the blaze.

Several Big Spring firefighting units rushed to the Kentwood subdivision to protect homes in that area of town, while county units were busy protecting homes in the vicinity of Driver Road.
