First reading coming on city tax rate

September 3, 2014

The Big Spring City Council will present the first of two public hearings on the proposed FY 2015 tax rate when they hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in council chambers, 307 E. Fourth.

The council was supposed to have held a public hearing on the new rate last week, but a software error at the tax appraisal district resulted in incorrect information being relayed to the various taxing entities in Howard County.
