Fishing tournament set Saturday for kids

February 7, 2011

No doubt, it's about trout.

And kids, of course.

The Greater Big Spring Rotary Club will stage the third Kid's Fishing Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 12 at Comanche Trail Lake. It's held at this time of year to take advantage of the lake's recent stocking of trout by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Ken McIntosh, pastor of the First Christian Church, Greater Rotary member and event chairman, began the tournament in 2009. The Rotary Club officially hooked the event two years ago.
Registration begins at 12:15 p.m. at the Dora Roberts Community Center. Signs will advise the young fishermen where to go once they get there. The actual tournament is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
