Florencia Gamboa, 97, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

She was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Marfa, Texas and married Elias Gamboa Sr. July 9, 1931, in Big Spring. He preceded her in death Aug. 2, 1991.

She moved to Big Spring from Marfa at the age of 7 and made Big Spring her home. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and the Guadalupana Society.

Survivors include one son, Elias Gamboa Jr. and wife, Donna, of Big Spring; three daughters, Alena Lara of San Angelo, Natalia Viera and husband, Daniel, of Antioch, Calif. and Yolanda Arispe and husband, Jose, of El Paso; and several grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Manuela Galan and Viola Rodriguez; and one son, Gilbert Gamboa.
