A lawsuit has been filed against two city council members and a pair of local businesses in connection with an ongoing investigation into possible illegal campaign contributions.
Former City Councilwoman Joann Staulcup confirmed today that she and ex councilwoman Stephanie Horton were filing suit against current councilmen Marcus Fernandez and Glenn Carrigan, charging them with accepting illegal campaign contributions. Also named as defendants are local corporations Quad A Inc. and Hydro Dynamics, the firms that allegedly made the contributions.
Midland attorney C.H. “Hal” Brockett is representing Staulcup and Horton in the legal action.
Staulcup said the lawsuit was to be formally filed with the 118th Judicial District Court sometime today.
