These days, instead of scoring touchdowns in the NFL, he's helping people put down roots in new homes.
C. Larson Real Estate in Big Spring had Midland native Cedric Benson, former running back with the NFL's Bears, Bengals, and Packers, and before that the University of Texas and Midland Lee High School, as special guest at their Home Buyers seminar Thursday night.
"We're coming down, my firm, Gold Financial, we're coming down to support C. Larson Realty, who we've partnered up with in this whole real estate endeavor together," Benson said.
Benson now works as a loan originator for Gold Financial, based in Austin.
"I messed around a couple of years after football, just taking some time off, catching my breath," Benson said. "It came time where I needed to start making some money again. By the grace of God, a friend of mine knew a guy in Jersey who actually owned a bank that had a mortgage firm in Austin. I went in and applied, and that's kind of how I got started."
