Former resident to sign copies of her book Saturday

Some nightmares last years, but they all eventually end.

Laura Proctor's nightmare was a parent's worst — her 9-year-old daughter, Christie, was abducted and murdered in the 1980s — and the ramifications lasted for more than a decade.

Proctor, a Big Spring native, wrote about her figurative trip to hell and back in “Desperate Enough To Win,” and will sign copies of her book Saturday in Big Spring Mall.

The book signing will occur from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in front of Blum's Jewelers, which is owned by Proctor's brother, Greg Brooks.
