Forsan band places 2nd in state marcing contest

The Forsan Band wrapped up its 2013 marching season Monday ,placing a close second at the State University Interscholastic League Class A Marching Contest finals.

In tough competition, the band fell one collective point behind Shiner High School, which was named the state Class A marching champion at the Alamodome in San Antonio. 2011 Class A champ Sundown High School placed third and Shelbyville High School placed fourth. The Class A state marching contest is held biennially.

The final results were almost a role reversal compared to the prelims earlier Monday morning. Forsan placed first in prelims, followed by Shiner. Shelbyville was third and Sundown fourth.
