FORSAN -— Forsan cross Country coach Robert Hillger is excited he’s taken eight boys and one girl to the state meet Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock — the most the program has ever had.

What’s more exciting to him, though, is the fact all of them are coming back for at least one more season.

“It’s very exciting,” Hillger said of taking nine Buffs to state Saturday, “and not to mention, we don’t graduate anybody.”

The Buffs have already made program history by taking that many people to the state meet. Hillger said Forsan has had one individual go to state in the program’s history and that was in 2004.

Juniors Kyle Stevenson and Elgin Suazo, sophomores P.J. Horton and Dillon Bagnall and freshmen Justin Goff, Covan Davidson, Tyler Evans and Taybor Flores will represent the Forsan boys. The one girl representing Forsan is freshman Raegan Haggard.
