Forsan set to take on Bushland

May 11, 2011

Forsan High School, fresh off a bi-district title, will take on a tough Bushland squad at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lubbock Cooper.

The best-of-three area playoff will continue with a second game at noon Friday at the same location, followed by a third game — if necessary — 30 minutes after Game 2.

“They went to the state tournament last year, so they are a solid team all-around,” Forsan Coach Jason Phillips said this morning. “They hit the ball really well. We are going to have to play one of our best games and I think if we do that, we have a good chance to win.”

Forsan, 22-6, comes into the contest after an impressive bi-district showing in which the Buffs defeated Torino 14-4 and 13-1 in run-rule games.
The victor of the bi-district series between Forsan and Bushland advances to the Class 2A regional quarterfinals.
