Frances Bell Sain Thornton

Frances Bell Sain Thornton, 93, of Georgetown, Texas, and formerly of San Antonio, Texas, died Jan. 12, 2012.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, in the Chapel of Mission Park South Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas. Interment will follow in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Frances was born to George and Gladys Sain in Hillsboro, Coffee County, Tenn. on Oct. 13, 1918, and became an adopted “Texan” when she resigned her commission as a 2nd Lt. in the Army Nurse Corps to marry Army M/Sgt. Okla W. Thornton Sr. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sister, Georga Willis of Manchester, Tennessee; her son, Okla W. Thornton, Jr. and wife Nancy of Big Spring, Texas; and her daughter, Linda Thornton Elsesser and husband Stephen of Leander, Texas. Frances also leaves behind five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
