Mark McKinney will be one of the headline musical acts performing at this weekend's Funtastic Fourth celebration in the downtown area.
Funtastic Fourth gets under way this evening. The two-day event will continued until about midnight, the resume Saturday morning with a full day of activities, including lots of music and vendors.
It all takes place in downtown Big Spring.
Opening ceremonies, 6 p.m.
Music by Del Castillo, Mad Mexicans & Extremo, beginning at 6 p.m.
Beer sales 6-11:30 p.m.
Many of the vendors will be open.
Food, craft and merchandise vendors throughout the day.
Kids Zone with bounce houses, miniature train rides, climbing wall and other attractions (Price for wristband for the Kids Zone is $20 but Cornerstone Covenant Church is sponsoring a canned food drive to benefit their food pantry. Children who bring two cans of food get the wristband for $10).
Gospel music on the main stage from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. featuring Fortissimo, Tributary, Spring Creek Praise Band.
Local music acts on the Gazebo stage until 6 p.m. include The Hoka Band, Fatal Flawz, Wreakless Entertainment, Nutin but Entertainment with N~Do and Marcus TR3Y and Cheridan Fulgham.
Beer sales 4 p.m.-midnight.
Graffiti Artists exhibition at corner of Second and Main streets.
Hot Dog Eating Contest, 6:30 p.m., main stage (prizes: first place, $500 Alon card; second place, $300 Alon card; third place, $200 Alon card; no cost to enter the contest).
Music extravangza 7 p.m., music by Mark McKinney, Matt Kimbrow, Adrian Calvio, Clayton Adams Band and Forgotten Road.
