Gail Whitney Legg, 94, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel.

She was born Nov. 19, 1917, in Denison, Texas, to Loy Grace and George W. Whitney. She graduated from St. Xavier Academy and Our Lady of Victory College in Fort Worth, Texas. She came to Big Spring in 1933 from Ft. Worth.

She was a professional musician, having played the accordion, piano and organ. She taught music for many years in Big Spring. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Bill Bonner of Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnie Legg on June 21, 2001; and a brother, George Whitney Jr.
