George William â€śBillâ€ť Cottom, age 71, of Brady, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in Abilene, Texas.
He was born Feb. 19, 1942 in Enid, Okla. to George William Cottom II and Norma Kay (Lovely) Cottom. He graduated high school in Enid, Okla. He had lived in Brady since 1988. He married Reta Mae Tubbs on Sept. 10, 1986 in Brady. He was a heavy equipment operator for more than 30 years, working many of those years for Weaver Construction of Snyder. He was a Methodist.
Visitation for Bill Cottom was Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Cremation followed. Friends may view Billâ€™s memorial video tribute and/or sign the online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.
Bill is survived by his mother, Norma Kay Cottom of Enid, Okla.; wife, Reta Mae Cottom of the home; son George William â€śBillyâ€ť Cottom IV and his wife, Heather, of Camino, Wash.; step-daughter, Sheila Lovell Johnson and husband, Chris, of Monroe, Wash.; step-sons, David Estes and wife, Holly, of Brady, Willie Estes of Brady and Bobby Estes of Brady; brother-in-law, Dale Tubbs and wife, JoAnn, of Winters, Texas; sister-in-law, Annie Littlefield and husband, Phillip, of Anson, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda Cottom, Colin Cottom, Courtney Nelson, Frankie Bowen, Krin Lovell, D.J. Estes, Justin Estes, Elisha Eckert and Reta Estes; great-grandchildren, Harley, Daniel, Wrandie, Keenn, Robbie, Mikayla and Austyn; 11 step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his side-kick, Peanut.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, George William Cottom II, and his grandson, Jerry Ray Estes.
