Gerald F. 'Jerry' Anderson

Gerald F. “Jerry” Anderson, 70, of Big Spring died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Pastor Jim Binnix of Midway Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born Feb. 6, 1942, in Brady, Texas, to Velma and John Anderson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived most of his life in Big Spring. He was a retired electrician, having worked many years for Colorado River Municipal Water District. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his son, Gary Anderson of Big Spring; one daughter, Amber Anderson of Big Spring; three sisters, Wanda Young and husband Dale of Big Spring, Anita Mallett and husband Bob of Oklahoma City and Johnnye V. Black of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, Kali Marie Anderson, Bailie Renay Anderson and Kalie MaNay Banks; and one great-grandchild, Brinleigh Tindol.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Martin.
