Gerardo 'Oaxaca' Rodriguez

Gerardo “Oaxaca” Rodriguez, 57, of Midland died Monday April 21, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Ackerly Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 27, 1956, in Mexico. He moved from Mexico to Lamesa in 1974. He married Maria Riojas on October 1989, in Lamesa. He lived most of his life in Ackerly where he farmed and he was a Catholic.

He is survived by his children, Genaro Rodriguez and Alejandra Rodriguez, both of Lamesa, Victor Rodriguez and Gabriela Rodriguez, both of Midland; mother, Francisca Adame of Mexico; two brothers, Jorge Rodriguez and Fernando Rodriguez, both of Mexico; five sisters, Ramona Rodriguez, Eduiges Rodriguez, Maria de Jesus Rodriguez, Teresa Rodriguez, and Maria Elena Rodriguez, all of Mexico; eight grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria “Margie” Rodriguez, on July 27, 2013 and his father, Juan Rodriguez.
